State and local government programs office moves

The Office of State and Local Government Programs, which is headed by Paul Coates, has moved its main office to the ISU Research Park.

The move is part of an effort to integrate extension programming aimed at government officials.

The new location will help bring programs in public administration, finance, planning, election administration and geographical information systems together in one location to maximize coordination.

The State and Local Government program will continue to focus on the Municipal Clerks Institute and Academy, State Election Administrator Training (SEAT), performance measurement, training of newly elected officials and methods of citizen involvement. But it will also now add activities in planning and zoning, GIS and community design as part of the new integrated effort.
