Manatt-Phelps Lecture

FedEx founder gives Manatt-Phelps lecture

Frederick W. Smith, chairman, president and founder of FedEx, gave the sixth annual Manatt-Phelps Lecture in Political Science on "Trends and Issues in the World Marketplace" Tuesday, Dec. 4. At the conclusion of the lecture Smith was presented a plaque by Ambassador Charles Manatt.

It's almost easier to list the countries that Jessica Maves hasn't been to while an Iowa State student. One professor described the senior as the student "with the most frequent flyer miles" on campus. In her four years at Iowa State, Maves has participated in four separate study abroad programs and she has been recognized for her international work with the 2008 LAS Student International Excellence Award. Political science majors have been a fixture in receiving the ISU Alumni Association's Wallace E Barron All-University Senior Award. Rohini Ramnath (pictured) is the latest recipient of the award which recognizes outstanding seniors who display high character, outstanding achievement in academics and university/community activities, and promise for continuing these exemplary qualities as alumni. No more than 5 seniors campus-wide are selected for the award.
