International speaking engagements on tap for McCormick, Mansbach

Two faculty members in the Department of Political Science will be logging the frequent flyer miles in the coming months on a variety of international speaking engagements.

Both James McCormick, professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, and Richard Mansbach, professor of political science, will be traveling abroad beginning in September.

McCormick will be going to England Sept. 18-23 as a participant in the U.S. Speaker and Specialist Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. McCormick will give a presentation at the University of Leicester, Leicester, England, entitled "Domestic Factors and the Bush Administration: Constraints on Foreign Policymaking?"

He will give a second talk while in England to the Royal Uniformed Services Institute (RUSI), a group that specializes in defense and international security issues.

Mansbach will speak at Turkey's Kocaeli University in September followed by a presentation at the London School of Economics in October.

Next February Mansbach will give presentations at the Department of International Politics at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs; the Department of Sociology and Political Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim; at Tampere University in Tampere, Finland; the University of Frankfurt (Germany); and the University of Bielefeld in Bielefeld, Germany.

Then in April 2007, Mansbach will give presentations at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at Haifa University in Israel, followed by talks at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and the University of Zagreb (Slovenia).
