International speaking engagements on tap for
McCormick, Mansbach
Two faculty members in the Department of Political Science will be logging
the frequent flyer miles in the coming months on a variety of international
speaking engagements.
Both James McCormick, professor and chair of the Department of Political
Science, and Richard Mansbach, professor of political science, will
be traveling abroad beginning in September.
McCormick will be going to England Sept. 18-23 as a participant
in the U.S. Speaker and Specialist Program sponsored by the U.S. Department
of State. McCormick will give a presentation at the University of Leicester,
Leicester, England, entitled "Domestic Factors and the Bush Administration:
Constraints on Foreign Policymaking?"
He will give a second talk while in England to the Royal
Uniformed Services Institute (RUSI), a group that specializes in defense
and international security issues.
Mansbach will speak at Turkey's Kocaeli University in
September followed by a presentation at the London School of Economics
in October.
Next February Mansbach will give presentations at the
Department of International Politics at the Norwegian Institute of International
Affairs; the Department of Sociology and Political Science at the Norwegian
University of Science and Technology in Trondheim; at Tampere University
in Tampere, Finland; the University of Frankfurt (Germany); and the
University of Bielefeld in Bielefeld, Germany.
Then in April 2007, Mansbach will give presentations at
Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at Haifa University in Israel, followed
by talks at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and the University
of Zagreb (Slovenia).
