Douglas Van Houweling, a 1965 government graduate from Iowa State University, has been named the inaugural recipient of the John V. Atanasoff Research and Discovery Award from Iowa State's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS).

Van Houweling received the award during the LAS Alumni Awards ceremony during Homecoming 2005.

A network that allows users to connect to one another as well as to their colleagues in more than 40 countries around the world - providing global leadership in the development of tomorrow's Internet.
